Agen paused

Can anyone help?

I'm running the human proteome folding project and twice now
the work unit has finished and paused. When the program tries to
send the data, it says, agent paused see wcgrid.org/cause.html.

The first time this happened I tried to turn off the firewall and
resend the data. Again the agent paused. I then uninstalled and
reinstalled the wcg software and downloaded a new work unit.

The second WU finished and again said "agent paused". Again I tried
resending with the firewall off, and got "agent paused". I went
through the information at wcgrid.org/cause.html, but found nothing
that would help.

I have been running WCG for a year now without a problem. I can use the internet or email, so I don't think that is the problem.

Any suggestions of advice will be appreciated.

Re: Agen paused

It may just be due to heavy server access if you get the problem at random. It should retry on its own shortly. The progression is something like after a minute, after a couple of minutes, after a few minutes, after 15 minutes, after 30 minutes, and every hour thereafter. (Others may know the exact numbers.)

If you are impatient, exit the activity screen. Click on the WCG icon again. Hit OK on the popup screen if you see one, a notify message leftover from the previous attempt. It should immediately retry to access the server.

If you consistently can't get server access, I wonder whether something could be corrupted. Send another message in that case and tell us about your system. Others are having no problem.

Re: Agen paused

OK. Have tried repeatedly to resend WU with no success. Running a Cyrix with windows 98. 128 mb ram, 6 G HDE (yea, I know it's a dog!).

This box has been running with no problems for a long time. Everything else works great.

Any other suggestions?

Re: Agen paused

Please look on your preferences window on the agent and let us know the device id number via support emails. We can then look up your device to see what might be shown in our logs.
