Four more rigs is almost like four more members Better, since it increases your member productivity. I'm told that we've finally overtaken you on the member count (nice to know) but you are still crunching way ahead of us. Keep it up ;-) |

YAY! I have six days off work. Let me grab a few hours sleep, and I'll be ready to go again. I seem to be having a problem reporting a completed BOINC WU, the following appears in Messages: - Attempting to send data to [secure.worldcommunitygrid.org] failed [failed sending data to peer] Scheduler request to http:/|secure.world communitygrid.org/boinc/wcg_cgi/fcgi failed with a return value of-103 No schedulers responded Something wrong that I should know about? Gremlin2 -- I wasn't able to find anything in the BOINC WIKI on this. You might want to cut/paste all of the messages from one attempt into a post in the Windows Support Forum. There are a few folks with a lot of experience with BOINC that hang out over there. |

I'd recommend reporting it thru a "contact us". There's a thread by JamieCampbell in the Windows Support Forum but doesn't look like it mentions a solution. It mentions that the machine is not pingable by others so maybe it has something to do with firewalls or network?

Thanks for the reply Dave. I decided to try in-house before pestering anyone else with the glitch. Will give it a couple more attempts before asking the gurus of crunch.

Hi GuysYou may want to create a new Tinyurl redirector for Borni's stats generator based on http://sig.braindev.de as it will minimise the redirecting of your stats image Currently it is going through two redirects and will take a lot longer to refresh and update, hence the reason why it is taking so long to show up in your Sig |

I finally got round to sorting it out. The WU that didn't want to report has just done so. Not before time. ![]() |

In reply to my request for help with a problem installing BOINC and an error message which indicates a problem with a file named "kmw_dll.dll", spikey_richie wrote:
billvelek - According to this , the DLL file is spyware... That was followed by a post by keithhenry who stated: I did a complete search of all files on my machine and did not find a dll by that name anywhere, including the BOINC directory. This supports the other response you got on your post as well. Thanks for the replies; sorry it has taken me so long to respond, but I've been busy and wanted time to look into this first. Regarding the link provided by spikey_richie, that page indicates that there are 8 known variants of that .dll file, and the malware status of all of them is "SAFE", and that they are filed used by Kensington Technology Group. As it is, I am using a Kensington Laser Mouse on my system, for which that .dll file is apparently needed. I tried deleting the file while my system was running, and received a message that the file can not be deleted because it is "in use", presumeably because that Kensington mouse is still connected and being used. There might not be a work-around for this. My other computer does not have a Kensington mouse, so I'm going to go back and try to install BOINC on it a little later. I'll post how it turns out. Thanks again. Bill Velek |
