Monster Work Unit

I have a Human Proteome Folding work unit running on my old P3 that is now at almost 56 hours and is only 40% done! It may set a new record for that system for points for a single work unit. I would guess it will generate around 1750 points which is about 300 more than I have seen on that system ever! Anybody else seeing any of these monsters?

My longest on an Intel Celeron was 9 days 16 hours 20 minutes and 43 seconds. It earned 3,244 points.

Re: smile smile smile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 13 smile smile smile

Good afternoon MOT

My thoughts exactly largethunder

Time to beef up the crunching team. I added a third device recently and pumping out over 1200 points on a regular basis!

Time for MOT to post those magical 300,000 daily point totals again after recent events!

Hopefully tonight I will post my Sleepout report on the team forum. Jeeze it was a cold night on the 28th sleeping outside in temp of 1C (35F) and 15mph northerly winds. Thanks to donations from MOT members I fundraised over £340 and including GiftAid, almost £400 or $711!! smile

biggrin WARDSTAR biggrin

Good Afternoon Guys

WORDSTAR Sir!, you are a champion mate
I take my hat off to you, as I am sure, does all of our team mates
Well Done

Our Team is maintaining the momentum that it has become famous for
I would love to see more of you Guys posting
Even if it just to say hello, it is always great to hear from you

smile I am sure it would make a change from listening to me keep waffling

biggrin I will shut up now and get on with some new Team Graphics

Re: smile smile smile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today smile smile smile

I know that everyone on our team will be happy to exetend a big welcome home to DAJ as he returns to the team. I know that these have been difficult issues that each of us has had to consider and I am glad to see that he has chosen to return to crunch with his friends here on MOT. smile smile smile

DAJ, it's a real pleasure to have you back home mate. Welcome!

Also, it's equally good to see more team members joining our forums.

praying i will start out by apologizing to the team for doing the exact thing i advise friends and relatives not to do. rather than sleep on a major decision a couple of nights, i got emotionaly charged by the situation (while knowing hardly anything about it), made a major decision (yes, for me team membership is a major decision) and quit the team.

not talking i could let pride keep me from renouncing my decision, but what we have accomplished together is way too important for me to do that. i apologize to each of you for abandoning you during a tough time. i assure you that as the storms of life rock our group (and they always will) i will stick with you.

cowboy i wholeheartedly endorse graham as our team captain. it was his gentle guidance that has lead me back to the group. rather than take offense at my rash action, he sent gentle messages of encouragement that made me realize my feelings were overwhelming my common sense. this is exactly the kind of leadership a growing team needs. he is definitely worthy of assuming command of the great ship mot and he has my full commitment (as does the team).

wink now that the mea culpa is complete, let's all get back on track and kick some IBM backside.

heating the house with cpu's benifits mankind biggrin

Your repentant (and recommitted) teammate,

parmesian

Tune in "SuitSat-1" at 145.990 MHz FM

Good Morning Team (© Graham)

At least it is morning here in North Carolina. Just hate this winter weather! Today it is supposed to get above 70 degrees F (20 C) -- LOL. This has been a very strange winter. Except for a very brief cold snap early in the season, most of the time our weather has been almost spring-like.

Jwilson15304 -- you must be very patient to have endured a nearly 10 day work unit. I think that might have been enough to push me over the edge -- LOL.

Today, and for about 2 more days, you can tune any police scanner to 145.990 MHz and possibly catch transmissions from "SuitSat-1" which is (or may have been already) being released from the International Space Station. You can read details about it here. NASA has also provided a Tracking Website which will calculate when the times it will pass your location so you will know when to listen.

I would like also to remind everyone to get on over to our Team Forum. Quite a few discussions have been started in there, so come on over and get registered!

Welcome back Parmesian! No need for apologies -- it has been a rough few days for all of us! I am glad to see you come back home to crunch with your friends! By the way, for some reason the stats box has been broken for a while. I did see it back briefly last night when I was up, but it looks like the problem with extrenal links is back.

My friend, Dave's words match my own sentiments exactly. It is great to see you returned to the fold.

Perhaps this is a rude question (perhaps not) but what on earth do you have to discuss that requires a private forum?

Sure, make it read only, but why hide?

/me fails to understand.

No, I don't think it is a rude question. The forum was just opened last week and our initial intent was that it be an open forum. Unfortunately, people being imperfect beings, a person identified as a "guest" posted some rude remarks in it and we were forced to close it for the time being. My hope is that we will learn more about how to administer it. At that time, we will be able to make it free and open.
