BOINC Verification Question

I know that 4 results are required for a quorum, then the credits are granted and my question is - are these 4 results all from BOINC crunchers or does the system send the same WU to both Boinc users and ordinary ones?

Re: BOINC Verification Question

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the systems are almost entirely separate. This is the only way it can work, since a large amount of information would need sharing to achieve the split you suggest.

Re: BOINC Verification Question

In order to correctly validate the work units returned in the most effeicient manner, they are split betweet Boinc and United Devices agents. The Boinc agents also get different pieces of work depending on whether the agent is running on Linux or Windows (again, for validation purposes).

Yes this is correct. It is best to view the United Devices grid as one system, the BOINC grid as a second system and the website as a third system. We have integrated these systems at certain points to enable all of the features.

The work for the Human Proteome Folding project is delivered from ISB in a 'batch'. Each batch consists of about 45,000 workunits (give or take). The BOINC grid and the UD grid have different batches loaded onto them.
