Hi all!
Nice photo Dave. Where is Raleigh? I'll have to look it up. By coincidence we bought a couple of Raleigh cycles before Christmas. Along with about 3 layers of kit. Some of the winter rides have been great - even if your face goes completely numb... Cheers, |

Where is Raleigh? Hi Matt -- Raleigh is in the southeast of the US. It is the capital of the State of North Carolina. Here's a map to help see where we are: I would love to claim Raleigh bicycles as a local product, but they are headquartered over in the UK. I wonder if their production still is. It seems like everything like that has been exported to where labor is less these days. |

Hi Dave,
----------------------------------------One of the many places I have lived in the UK was Nottingham (Home of Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest and the lace industry) while I was there in 1993-1996 Raleigh still had their factory producing Bicycles - not sure if it's still there though today |

Nottingham (Home of Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest and the lace industry) Hmm ... Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest and the lace industry you say. Now I know where Monty Python got the concept for "Robin Hood: Men in Tights." I wonder what the title might have been if Nottingham had been known for something more masculine than lace, something like baked beans -- no, better not go there -- LOL I presume that when you speak of the lace industry there, you aren't refering to what we homebrewers call "Lacing" as seen on this mug that I just finished: Time to go to the fridge and get another one, looks like. There, that's better. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 20, 2006 10:52:15 PM] |

I remember my Granny used to crochet lace. I think it is much more fun to drink your mug into lace

Pete --
----------------------------------------I upload them to ClubPhoto.com and then I display them to find the url of the image. I then cut/paste it into an {img]...[/img] line in the posting here. I do resize them first and also have to have a paid membership in ClubPhoto in order to reference them. I'm working on doily number 4 now [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 21, 2006 12:25:08 AM] |
