Each BOINC project needs to either provide a science application binary for each platform that particular project supports or they need to make the source available and allow 'anonymous' platforms.
If the reports on BSD are true, and people can reliably use the linux binary, will you consider adding the platform to the list to make the process simpler? Hopefully, by the time you've finished working on OS X, several people will have tested BSD for you, and you will be able to do it with minimal work.
More clients for zero effort sounds like a good deal to me, even if the BSD crowd are (relatively) tiny. But if I let
my geeks know about it, and if the slashdot crowd do a similarly good job, then you should get an impressive takeup.
