Wow, He's back!! Almost twice as many team points as while you were gone. Fred, For recruiting I can repost to the Brewing Equipment email list that Bill orginally recruited me from and maybe one local list. Dave Hi Dave! I haven't had time to scratch in the last week because of software upgrade complications, so I haven't done anything on recruiting (I haven't even had time to look at the team stats). I'll post on the Hist-Brewing list and a couple more general groups this weekend, then next month I'll buy an ad on a couple of email newsletters and hit my local brew store / brew pubs. I probably won't get rolling on the major stuff until August (Zymurgy etc) I hope I can still find that database of brewing organizations. I do need your opinions, gents (and ladies, if any are lurking about) - do we want to keep using Bill's Alltel.net page as the recruiting target site? Cheers FB |

Cheers FB Fred, If we have an option, a more regularly updated page might be better, but that means somebody needs to set it up. I can see if I can find Bill's email in my newsletter archives and send him another note directly to see if he has an opinion since he has not been present here. Last time I sent a note he didn't respond. Dave |

I agree, the page should be something that is updatable to reflect any campaigns etc. I have no problem with buying one of those domain-web site packages with a quickie web setup engine. I'll need help with the content and appearance, though. FB |

By the time the statistics update at 0Z, the Homebrewers will have passed

We could always use your help If you brew your own, or if you enjoy someone else's homebrew, I invite you to join the HOMEBREWERS team! In addition to crunching and brewing, we try to host cooking and food discussions, and some of the recipes in the thread are superb. Stop in and have a look - join the team if it suits you. Not a high pressure sales job? That's right! We don't try to rip members from other teams - only let "teamless" members know that we're out there and ready to grow! |

If we have an option, a more regularly updated page might be better, but that means somebody needs to set it up. I have looked up domains - the last time Bill and I talked, we didn't set a firm name for the site (since homebrewers.org is taken by a deally dumb Canadian site, though it was the logical choice). I found that WORLDBREWERS.ORG and WORLDBREWERS.INFO are both available for a few bucks a year. The cost of the hosting is the only downside, I have not done much research, but it seems the charge will be $3-4/month for a web page created outside the site and uploaded, or $6/mo for a site with a "do it yourself" engine. I will do more research, it should be possible to find something cheaper than that since it's low-usage and small-pages, and (oh yes) non profit. I may even try to hit up one of the commercial sites (association of homebrewers or some such) to actually host the page, and just redirect to their server. First decision: Which site name? FB |
