Rewards...

...don't panic, I'm not going to ask for rewards for crunchers like it used to be at grid.org...

However, I would like to be able to reward (say thanks for assistance from site admins and fellow crunchers etc for their prompt and helpful replies which can often save hours of research and testing when a problem with the agent occurs).

At the Easynews firum, they have adopted a means of giving feedback on the feedback you receive, e.g. was the feedback usefull or not. I don't think that these feedback points amount to anything tangible, but I am sure that it would encourage healthy competition amongst those that offer their time so willingly to help others. I am sure too, that some kind of measurable figure would often be reward enough even it it remained only another statistic wink

Whether this ever becomes a reality or not, I would like to take the opportunity of thanking the admins for the sterling work they do. None of us has to be working on this project, and if we chose to, we are even less obliged to help fellow crunchers.

Thanks guys, you are doing a great job! applause

Re: Rewards...

Coolstream --

You have my thanks and I am sure that of the rest of our team. I for one don't feel a need to compete with my fellow admins. I am much happier that our skill sets seem to complement each other so that we are able to address a broader range of problems for the members. The gratification I get from having helped someone is the best reward I could want.

While I am at it, there are several other members who haven't been "knighted" as Community Admins that pitch in and offer their help too. The help that they provide is really appreciated. We are only a half dozen admins and there are a whole lot more members out there needing help than we can handle at times. Although most of us will try to assist in resolving all problems, sometimes we need the help of others with skills we may not have.

I guess the best part of this is is that it is truly a World Community Effort!
