confused Projects partecipation

Dear members, despite the fact I've checked the boxes for both FightAids@Home and Human Proteome Folding projects the computers I use (3) keep dowloading files only for FightAidas@Home, to an extent that seems probabilistically unlikely. Therefore I had to choose only Proteome Folding project for one machine. Can any one explain this and give me some suggestions ?

Thank you

P.S. There is a way to check the overall grid performances (say in TFlops) ?

Re: Projects partecipation

Hello geostd,
My guess (no more than that) is that we are conserving the last of the HPF units to make them last until FightAIDS@Home is boarded for BOINC. So most (not all) randomly assigned work units are for FAAH.

The statistics list computer hours, points and results. There is no official way to convert that into teraflops. So people do their own calculations, using whatever reference processor seems reasonable to them.

Dear Mycrofth, sorry, I'm not so sure I've fully understood your reply, but I don't need any further explanations. Thank you very much.

Re: Projects partecipation

The grid system assigns work units at random from those inserted into the grid system, if the machine qualifies for the project and does not have opt-out settings which force one or the other project. For some period after launch of the new project, we have a higher proportion of FightAIDS@home work units to help with the press coverage. When new users hear about the FightAIDS@home project and WorldCommunityGrid for the first time, they can be surprised and confused by a Human Proteome Folding work unit. So we will gradually establish a more normal equilibrium over the next few weeks.

Re: Projects partecipation

Thank you very much; I will change the settings of my machines (currently one is only dedicated to HPF) accordingly.
