Re: rose Team Gay US: Welcome new members! rose

Still crunching!

I'm crunchin'... but it's going to be a disappointing weekend though. Gonna haveta power everything off due to a facilities issue. Won't 'em restart until Monday. crying

Also, finally gonna have to retire several older systems.. I need the space, and the power, for other gizmos. Besides, I don't want to have to move them to a new location later in the year. <sigh>

And also, gonna have to reallocate some of the newer systems for other work. I was hoping to top the 200M point level before that, but... it will probably happen sooner, rather than later. <sigh>

I'll still have several systems crunchin', but it won't be nearly the same. I do hope to get a couple new systems on at some point, but dunno when. So... if you see my daily numbers drop... that's why. crying

still... there are cures that need finding, so even 10K points a day is better than 0 points a day.

I hope everyone else out there is doing ok. It's good to see yall are still around!

I actually powered some things on Sunday afternoon. Woo-hoo! It's an awesome feeling putting your hand on a main high voltage breaker and turning it on. It's amazing how things immediately start whirring back to life. biggrin

Let the crunchin' continue! dancing

Be careful Jay. Putting your hand on the handle and turning it on may cause the circuit to blow. tongue

I know and used to work with the guys who do development on UPS and PDU devices.... in fact, some guys I managed tested UPS and PDU devices a few years back. I have great respect for electricity, but I do get away with doing some things that facilities might not quite agree with.... not dangerous mind you... but not quite what they like most people to do. Then again.... I'm in a lab... not a "data center". They would be........ wait for it....... wait for it........ SHOCKED..... to see some of the things we do with power supplies and PDUs . wink

Fortunately my UPSs, PDUs, and Power Supplies are boringly redundant. I like them that way since it allows me to sleep at night. wink

Yeah - that's a nice little boost.

Problem with bringing big guns online is that it kills me to have to take them down crying

Oh well, maybe I can keep them running long enough to rack up a couple of million points (can't let tkrw pull too far ahead! biggrin
