Re: rose Team Gay US: Welcome new members! rose

Question:
However, I am fine with making an oath to God and here it is: "By God, I am asking the question if anyone in this Team has encouraged scientists to do research if the WCG is suitable to do computational chemistry or biochemistry computations or other computations that explore the matter of gender preference or gender attraction not for the purpose of persecution of the Gay community or any member of the Gay community".

Answer:
No. I'd much rather my computer crunch time be used for the advancement of defeating diseases, saving lives, and ending suffering (regardless of one's gender identity, sexual orientation, political views, or religious beliefs).

As a Community Advisor, I respectfully request that the hijack of this team thread be discontinued and that the responses to the hijack, both pro and con, stop. This is a team thread and is for use by that team for communicating among themselves and for recruiting new members and not for discussing social issues, particularly from those who are not members of this team. Thank you for your cooperation.

Re: Team Progress!

cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool

Progress. I just unplugged 2 PC's running 24/7 on the grid -- one of them doing nothing BUT the grid. Along with that, I took a Mac Mini offline, at least for the time being.

In their place(s), I installed a new Quad-Core Mac Pro. I installed the new machine with WCG on 9/18. In the past 8 days, I have:
cool PASSED THE 1,000,000 point mark!!!!
cool returned 241 results
cool Pumped out almost 25 days of Total Run Time
cool Moved up 300 places in the WCG Ranking from 4129 to 3829

That was a good 3 months work on my old configuration.

All I can say is WOW! Does that feel good!

Re: Team Progress!

I have some pending changes in the future for my herd of machines as well. Of all of my machines, the one that has the most points, I should be able to get three more of those online in the coming weeks. These will all be Debian without X - just doing their server work and the boinc agent. Plus, I just added an older, but still very nice dual processor, dual core server also running non-gui Debian that has generated nearly 9,000 points and 29 results in 4 days.

Re: Team Progress!

Thanks, JM! tkrw -- those machines should do really well, too. I was cruising around, checking some of the "big timers" and found my webhost there with JMathews in the top generators. Was very pleased to find them there, donating all the time that my website doesn't need because it has no traffic! :)

If there are no significant changes in points generated per day in the top 25 team members, I predict that I'll break into the top 10 on the team (Points Generated) on NEW YEARS DAY, 2008.

What a sweet way to start the year.

Team Challenges

I have entered the team in the upcoming October and November team challenges. Sorry I was not attentive enough to have entered the events which had already gotten underway. I await the appropriate discipline in the punishment room, Sirs...
