I wonder if Boy will step away from the cam long enough to accept?  It sounds like they will just make the switch. If there is a protocol for this sort of thing, I am not sure what it is. I'm actually surprised it was this easy. I guess WCG thinks an absent captain of an active team is not a good idea either. Hey! I did make it to 1M before you got to 10M  |

Ok. Boy gets to try out the captain chair. If he don't like it, he can give it to J.I will keep the Tenille position, and yield the Captain position to J, or any other candidates that are interested. I'd much rather be the cheerleader than the quarterback, even if I'd prefer to date the latter |

Does it really matter? I mean, what exactly does the captain do? Obviously the team has done pretty well without the active participation of the current captain. Aside from just being a "figurehead" who might spend alittle more time trying to promote the group - is there something more to this position that I'm missing?

The captain can change the team name, description, web page, etc. It's not really that important, but it is control of some team parameters that should be available to someone who is around and actively participating.
----------------------------------------I guess the most important thing the captian can do from a promotional/figurehead standpoint is quit being the captain and let someone else have it if he/she is no longer interested in the position or the duties. I guess most of us would also expect the captain to take the lead in creating the team thread in the forums (like boy has done) and welcome new members/encourage existing ones. Yeah, I guess what I'm digging at is -- I don't really think that whomever was to receive the title of captain would see their level of involvement really change from their current. I honestly think we need someone that plans to be somewhat available - it shouldn't be a lot of work.

Team captaincy is mostly cheerleading.
This is me that is telling you this</whoever_it_was_who_said_it> A bit of recruiting is kind of expected, but your team mates should be helping out with that. I don't qualify for your team, or I'd leave mine in the lurch and come and help you out myself :-D |
