Probably not the appropriate forum to ask but here goes.
Has anyone found a way in windows BOINC (v 8.0.2) a means to get the processing done in "due date" order? I know I can arrange the presentation to SHOW that, but I wish to know how to get BOINC to process them in that order. (I have forgotten my password to Berkeley and attempts to reset it have met with silence - i.e., no emailed response to reset request.) |

Firstly, those with a deadline within seconds of each other are considered as being the same batch for this purpose. That shouldn't bug you as it does not matter.
I think you are probably referring to re-sends where the deadline has been halved. These are listed in deadline order but seem to start processing as if the deadline had not been halved. However BOINC does not let them miss their deadline. If the deadline is in danger they get started. Alternatively, promote them manually by suspending the others until they start and then resume. Looks like the only things going out were resends - one ARP1 about 2 hours ago and one MCM1 about 20 minutes ago.
----------------------------------------ETA: another resend of MCM1 just now. Prep of new work seems to have gone into hibernation atm. [Edit 1 times, last edit by bfmorse at Jun 18, 2025 1:17:07 AM] |

Not sure if I've tested specifically with BOINC 8.0.2, but I've seen it process tasks in "due date" order if the buffer is large. So something like a 4-5 day buffer (with 7 day deadlines) would do it.

I'm getting a few MCM for Windows but none for Linux, no arp at all.
