Where is the "server status" page in this new WCG website layout?

Actually, this has been commented on (and explained to some degree) several times in the past, but finding the relevant threads may be non-trivial :-)

When tasks for new work-units hit the feeder, they don't [usually] have a specific target platform in mind; once one of the tasks has been picked up, the other one will then have to go to a system on the same platform[*1].

Retries are a different matter. If there are no active tasks for the WU at the time the retry is requested, it can go to any platform; if, however, there is a task not yet returned or some task has come back and was not marked as some sort of error, any retries have to go to the same platform as the still-pending task(s).

So there are at least two reasons why that message can appear:

• WCG have decided to send some new work to one specific platform (e.g. Android?) -- however, I don't know whether they ever actually do that;
  
• there is a backlog of retries (mostly due to tasks not being returned before deadline), in which case there are two possibilities:
  
  • because missed deadlines tend to happen a lot with systems with large caches there may well be periods where retries for WIndows or retries for Linux dominate;
    
  • WCG may have some fine control over which platform gets retries at any given time.

Regarding any "fine control" WCG might employ -- if they don't tell us, we'll never know :-)

*1 WCG does this for all [current] projects; some other BOINC sites don't. The only issue then is the definition of "platform" (e.g. should FreeBSD by grouped with Linux, and where do Apple machines fit in!)

That's when I found out that the line "No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers" can be absent in certain cases, although being subscribed to MCM1:

Yes, that's been going on since early afternoon yesterday (UTC time) Nothing worked. The website was totally down, and the BOINC part of WCG was also totally down. Now though, it's possible to upload tasks, but not report them, and ask for new work. (Feeder is down)

The website is still in ON and OFF mode, and very unstable.

And as usual, no information posted by the team, on their social media accounts.
