I know, but that's what the post from them implied. Perhaps they've now managed to set up remote access...

Re: ARP restart update

I'm not expecting any ARP tasks this weekend. I read the post as saying they are doing internal testing first, and if all goes well (I'll be surprised if it does) then Monday we will see some tasks.
I'm guessing they sent themselves some tasks on Friday and will check on them over the weekend. Shouldn't take long to just check to see if the tasks did well or not. If there are issues I assume they will wait until Monday to work on it.

I wish they'd stop gaslighting us with these updates. Now look, I'm not complaining about issues arriving and delays happening, but when half the time a "we will X tomorrow" post comes, X never does.

Imagine if instead of saying "We will update tomorrow", they waited one, just ONE more day and said "we've just did this yesterday". Wouldn't this be so much better than claiming there will be an update July 5th, but it takes until the 12th to happen? Wouldn't it be so much better if they waited for July 5th to post the message, realized there was a problem, then just kept quiet in order to not promise something they wouldn't be able to deliver?

It's infuriating. Stop making promises you can't deliver.

Always a good idea to start a new release at the beginning of the week so if something goes south there are staff working to fix things.

We **always** implemented a new release at the end of the week so that we had the weekend to put things right if it went wrong - that’s across all of the sites I worked on.

Work finished when the implementation was successful or until it had been backed out.

You should go to work for WCG so they could have someone to work on the weekend, as no one works weekends at present.

Neither did I 48 weeks of the year - implementations are an exception and we always treated them as such.
