My interview today

I set off all dapper in my new suit and crisp white shirt.

I didn't want my stomach to rumble in the interview so I stopped off on the way for a sandwich and a drink.

As I was hyper enough I thought instead of a coffee I'd have one of those Mars chocolatey milk drinks

In a rush I set of again and somewhere down the A34 I tried to open the bottle so I could have a drink. It had one of those foil lids which came off very quickly and promptly sprayed all up the front of my shirt with chocolatey Milk. I was covered.

You should have heard the language blushing

I had to stop off at the next services and wash my shirt and dry it under a hand dryer.

I always think its a good sign when you have a disaster on the way to an interview ever since I had my first at GEC Telecoms when I got the job way back, At the time I was using an electric razor to shave but seeing as it was an interview I thought I'd make the effort and have a proper wet shave so at 5:30 in the morning I wielded that blade and nearly took my top lip off. I lived at the time in Leeds and it didn't stop bleeding until I got to Sheffield on the train (about 40 miles) Nightmare

So the interview today was a good one after all - hope I get chance to do the website updates.

Tonights stats update should be interesting
We're back in the groove
Don't go switching off

Re: My interview today

Dave --

That sounds like how I would fare on an interview.

Chris -- liked your website as well.

As soon as the stats update is complete, I guess I can start celebrating my birthday! At least it is November 29 over in the UK. Think I will start the celebration by GMT and continue it out through our west coast time biggrin

Hmm -- a homebrew definately is in order!

Wow -- waiting for the stats to finish updating is getting a lot like watching a pot waiting for it to boil! I guess with the recent increase in membership of about 20,000 to a total of 119,735 registered members has something to do with that! Hey all you new folks -- this is the team you are looking for and we are looking for you! Join us -- you will not regret the decision!

Now to clean up the kitchen -- I just bottled a batch of nice hoppy ale tongue

Just taking a moment to celebrate Team WCG's success today

(We haven't done to badly either wink 5th again biggrin )

106 years 230 days 21 hours 37 minutes and 41 seconds of number crunching in a single day!!! the first time the grid has seen the other side of a century

24,826,192 points, over a million points per hour. When you think you would have be going some to scrape together 30 points per hour from a single PC it puts the size of this project into perspective.

121 TFlops astounding

It took the fledgling WCG 31 days to reach 1000 years of run time now we can do that in less than 9.5

Fantastic
