I do get the odd SCC singleton, but they are all created on April 30th, and sent out now, but no MCM or OPNG. OPN1 is probably empty anyhow. Bigger problem is that no validation of any work happens. I'm piling up "pending validation" like I have seldom seen, other than when the validators went on a strike. Not even singletons validate now. I only have 150 items in pending validation, which is less than normal. However, I have very few work units in progress over all my systems. Cheers

The queues are dry, which usually means something broke.
Admin - given how often the work unit creation process has been failing recently, can you please run a surplus when you're available to last for when you're out of the office? The current goal of matching supply and demand makes the supply chain brittle. |

Looks like the validator went south again. I have pages and pages of "Pending Validation" units and zero points for the day. Work units still seem to be flowing, at least.

Looks like the validator went south again. I have pages and pages of "Pending Validation" units and zero points for the day. Work units still seem to be flowing, at least. I also again have WUs stuck in "pending validation" but don't seem to be getting any WUs at the moment. What I find most frustrating at the moment though about WCG is the lack of clarity about the status. Has the validator "gone south"? Is the queue empty? Any other BOINC project I will go to the "server status" page and know instantly what the situation is. Here I waste time browsing the forum posts, reading the speculation about what is up / down / MIA and I don't actually KNOW anything. If, as was recently announced, WCG is fit for full launch and we are asked to "tell the world" why isn't there a simple clear way for any user to know the status? (Maybe this has been answered before but I have not seen it, if so.) |

Well Yeah, it is what it is, and at the moment WCG is not working as it should. I do get the odd SCC task from time to time, but no MCM tasks (my main computer is shut down, so I do not know about OPNG). I do not ask for ARP at all. Tasks that takes longer to crunch, than I usually have my computers running/day, is of no interest to me.The validator is on strike, so no credits are flowing in either.
But at the age of 67, I have learned that Rome was not built in a day, and WCG's move from IBM will take several more years, before it is really at the same level as under IBM. One has to either live with it, or decide to leave. I have made my choice, and I will stay. I will probably be Grumpy from time to time, but stay I will. |

Validation of tasks has begun. My list of "Pending Validation" is shrinking. Very good, looking forward to new fresh tasks.
----------------------------------------An update from the team, of what went wrong, would be appreciated. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at May 2, 2023 1:06:18 PM] |

Yesterday, 1st of May, my last validated result was at:
----------------------------------------Mon 1 May 20:27:02 UTC 2023. Today, 2nd of May, my first validated result was at: Tue 2 May 12:29:00 UTC 2023. It looks as if validators were turned off right before the end of the working day at 16:30 and started again at 08:30 the next morning. (I don't know their working hours and I'm respecting any and all of the WCG Team's working hours, of course.)Not sure if the downtime of the website around 15:00-17:00 UTC (1st of May) was involved in the 'downtime' of the validators in some way. Anyway, validators are in the middle of catching up now. Adri [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at May 2, 2023 2:34:01 PM] |

Thanks for the update, Adri .
I'm asking for SCC right now and getting enough to keep my machine running. I don't usually get one on the first ask, but I get one or two SCC per hour, so that keeps my one little machine happy. I haven't run dry yet. |

Tasks that takes longer to crunch, than I usually have my computers running/day, is of no interest to me.The validator is on strike, so no credits are flowing in either.. I deselected MCM1 a few days ago, since then I get a steady supply of SCC and occasional batches (5-25) of OPNG WUs. No ARP for days...The supply is enough to keep all hosts that I checked busy, with some only having half a dozen "at the ready", but as long as the system is up, that would be just fine. However the system overall is not running as it should be, that "missing devices" issue is now going on more more than half a year without an actual solution in sight. The validator(s) seem to have played catch-up the last day (or two), but overall, I am missing more and more credits (not even talking about those from June through September 2022). Right now the stats claim that I am producing only half of what I had before the hardware crash. The only constant for all this time is that communication/information from WCGs side is spotty at best, including apparently not able to fix their email issue in at least a month by now... Ralf PS: But apparently there is enough time to play stupid childish moderator games... |
