WCG download BOINC version 7.16.11 - latest is 7.22.0

I happened to see another user running a later version of BOINC. when I checked the download fro WCG for BOINC it is 7.16.11 . I see the latest version is 7.22.0 . I see some features it would be nice for the volunteers to use.

When will WCG pick up a later version of BOINC?

7.22 is still a development version. The latest is 7.20.2.

Are you running Windows or Linux?

If Linux then look up costamagnagianfranco and add his repository, that will update you to 7.20.5

Windows. I picked up 7.20.2, per BOINC website as latest to use, on one machine. It is running fine.

The question to WGC is when will they update their download, not what a volunteer can pick up an run.

New territory for Krembil. The old WCG team was slow and conservative when it came to upgrading to newer versions of BOINC and usually only did so when the benefits were significant. And then only after making their own WCG customization's and security testing to meet IBM's requirements.
