Re: Research update from the ARP team (March 2023)

great update ! I'm looking forward to more ARP WUs. I'm going to change my preferences on WCG to focus solely on ARP as it sounds like they have WUs to send once things are fixed here.

I will admit to feeling a bit old, as one of my earliest jobs was swapping the tapes and platters. I'm glad they have robots to do that now. It was a BORING job.

It's always very appreciated hearing what is happening behind the scenes and thoughts on where the project goes. Thank you for keeping us in the loop!

Re: Research update from the ARP team (March 2023)

It is good to hear that the storage problem has been solved.

One problem now is that the leading generation is only about 40 generations away from completion but there are 3 ultra extreme units that are 168 generations away. They need to be kept moving by whatever means is necessary, such as time step adjustment.

The same, to a lesser extent, goes for the rest of the extremes, some of which are 84 generations from finishing.

Otherwise, ARP will be hanging around almost for ever!

There rarely seem to be ARP work units available.
