ARP workunits & HTTP errors follow-up
We are happy to report that the HTTP errors seem to be resolved since Wednesday. However, we continue to monitor the system to determine whether this issue has been completely resolved or a temporary reduction in traffic has just made the issue less prevalent. ARP workunits are flowing as usual since Tuesday, and our ARP task pipeline hasn’t reported any interruptions or issues since the ARP team has restarted their downloads. However, some volunteers have reported receiving an unusually low (or empty) task load. We will continue to monitor the system and so we can identify possible issues or interruptions. Other reported issues Since the original post, we have been made aware of other BOINC issues, including missing stats and stuck uploads, which we have been looking into. We have updated our Comprehensive Issue List to include these new issues. We are also investigating whether there is an issue with outbound mail from our ticketing system, as some users have reported not receiving answers to their support emails. For now, we advise anyone with a specific question to check the forums for threads relating to their question and seeing if someone else has had a similar concern answered already. If you have any comments or questions, please leave them in this thread for us to answer. Thank you for your support, patience and understanding. WCG team |

great update and great work on getting rid of the http errors.
ARP is only sending out a few resends at the moment, so hopefully when ARP are flowing heavily the http errors will still be solved. I'm confident you guys did good work :-) |

Cyclops,
----------------------------------------I sent a support email yesterday (with screenshots) for the existing issue with mismatched device names in Results and Devices. Did you receive it? https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...ead,44607_offset,0#678573 AgrFan [Edit 1 times, last edit by AgrFan at Dec 17, 2022 3:45:06 AM] |

If you didn't receive it, then it was an another case of our emailing system failing to send a response to an email. The contents were mostly information we repeated in the last paragraph of this update. |

The contents were mostly information we repeated in the last paragraph of this update. I did not receive your email. You really need to get this fixed. How can you support WCG without a functioning email system? Your response to my support issue is totally unacceptable. It should not be that hard to update a device name on the Web database. I reported this issue over a month ago and other people are seeing it too. I'm out of patience now. Looks like I'm moving my four machines to FAH and other BOINC projects. I've been a contributor since 2008. It's quite obvious you are over your head and the contributors are not important. The fact that you are not running the software on your machines says lots about how invested you are in making WCG successful. BTW, why is there no new work? It would be helpful for us to know what's been going on the past few days ... [Edit 3 times, last edit by AgrFan at Dec 19, 2022 1:41:01 PM] |

I'm not getting any downloads, and all of my completed work has been uploaded.
Any idea when we will start getting work again? My two computers are chomping at the bytes to get some more work done... |

Copy of my Dec 17th email:
It appears that the system is not releasing many NEW WU’s but, IS attempting to fill in the gaps for MIA WU’s (lost, aborted by volunteers, no contact or due to queue being too large ). If this was a planned event, a “heads up” to the volunteers would be appreciated. However, I HOPE the the problem was not the result of an unexpected system issue! Please advise! And yes, the email system needs to be fixed ASAP! A “no response” is easily perceived to be “we don’t care about you or your comments”! And I REALLY DON’T think that is the message you want to present! |

Hi AgrFan, Nightshifter and bfmorse, we are looking into the recent task drought and we will post an update ASAP once we have some important news to share. We know how big an issue this is and we are hoping to put an end to it soon so the volunteers can go back to crunching like normal.

We know how big an issue this is and we are hoping to put an end to it soon so the volunteers can go back to crunching like normal. Sorry, but that statement of yours is simply not believable. It shouldn't take 3 days to even get a acknowledgement of that issue, not to mention a solution for it.And the external stats is an issue that is now going on for the 9th day! The one thing that seemed to have worked for all the time since you restarted sending out WUs get f'ed up and you don't really acknowledge that issue either... Sorry Cyclops, this might not be your fault, but the way Krembil is handling this whole project now is simply beyond ludicrous.... Ralf ![]() |
