Hi!
Was there a change in the work units being sent out since about today? They seem to run much longer and have a massive (negative) impact on my systems overall performance. Until yesterday it was absolutely no problem playing video games while running MCM. Now my whole system becomes laggy when running even less work units, even without playing games. If it's only me, I have to check what the reason could be. Otherwise I have to turn down the limit of parallel units a lot to maintain a responsive system. |

No changes here either.
Have you made any changes in hardware or software on your system? |

Thanks for your responses.
No, I didn't change anything I'm aware of. Who knows what Win10 does in the background... I did a restart yesterday without any effect. Today it seems to be all normal again. I have absolutely no clue. It was just in standby over night... Hopefully it was just a glitch on my side and won't appear again. Again, thanks for the feedback. Sometimes issues are hard to analyze and knowing if there's a general issue or not makes it a lot easier. |

Take a look at task manager (I prefer the resouce manager) to see what tasks are trying for CPU, Memory and Disk resources. Try snooze of Boinc (right click on BOINC icon in task bar). Review when your disk frag runs. Double check that all your items have been indexed (in search bar type window search - see if you have lots of outstanding items to index). Check that all windows updates have been applied.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I am going to throw it there anyway. I know a guy who is running Windows 10 on his machine and WCG is all that is running. He said for some reason his fans were running maxed out. He had never heard them run like that except on startup. He checked and the machine was not over heating and the temps seemed normal. He shut it down and restarted and the problem went away. I have no idea why this may have occurred and neither did he.

I have a similar problem. Mapping Cancer Markers constantly resets itself after about a minute of trying to run on my MacBook Air. I wonder if my computer is not powerful enough to run this particular project. It's the only one that has this problem.

I wonder if my computer is not powerful enough to run this particular project. It's the only one that has this problem. There seems to be numerous problems with MAC's running MCM. It appears to be some OS problem. See here Cheers
