Re: 2022-12-08 Update (OPNG workunits, storage update, and missing devices on Contributions page)

@Cyclops:

Thanks for the information in the post above. Since the scientists haven't released any new opn work are you still cleaning the shelves? I have the following currently processing in my queue, now all processed
OPN1_0127848_00476_1
OPN1_0127848_00551_1
OPN1_0127848_00541_1

Curious to know where these are from

Re: 2022-12-08 Update (OPNG workunits, storage update, and missing devices on Contributions page)

Basically, they have been doing that for the last 2 weeks for ARP1 & OPN1.
They started with a load of both then 6 days later the re-sends then another 3 days later the second re-sends....... All ARP1 seem to have about finished and OPN1 are drying up.

Too many people are taking the units and not finishing them.

Thanks for your feedback Mike. I thought resends were only _2 or higher perhaps I am wrong. Since the tasks I mentioned above only had a 3 day deadline they were due back on the 10th

OPN1 units are frequently sent out as singletons, so _1 could be a re-send with a 3-day deadline from a 'No reply'.

It depends on the project and what quorum is set for this specific projects. OPN[1,G] has a quorum of 1, so "original" WUs are only _0, and _1, _2, etc would indicate a resend, while other projects might have a quorum of 2 (don't recall if there was ever a project with a higher quorum), so initial WUs are _0 and _1, with anything from _2 and up are resends...

For the purposes of your post, ARP1 extremes are sent initially to 3 machines but with a quorum of 2.

in this particular case I find it unlikely because the 1st copy _0 in all cases were pending validation

The singletons went out to 'reliable' machines. If a machine did not have that status, then a second copy would go out to someone else. The machine would become 'reliable' after returning a number of valid results.

Check the units out in Results Status in BOINC Manager. You can see all copies of that unit by clicking on the Result Name. They show the date/time issued and returned.
