Still seeing some retries and worse the 5 minute timeouts that block all projects.

At least for the moment, pretty much all day, the down load issue has not raised its ugly head here. I have not had to use any retries and my queues have remained at their set levels. If the issue is finally fixed, congratulations. Hope springs eternal. Cheers Yes, things are better today on the download/upload side. It looks like ARP is mostly re-sends now, so that may be the cause for improvement. “Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. If more one-off upgrades are needed, WCG could do a fundraising drive and knock things out real quick. Lots of volunteers spend big bucks on hardware and electricity, surely we could chip a few to keep things stable. Lots of fundraising websites around too that don't take a ton of the money. I'd chip in. Thoughts everyone?

I'd chip in. Thoughts everyone? Agree and I've said the same. Also as noted, there is already a Donate section to the website. However, they need to (1) detail what they need, (2) what it would be used for (and what it would help achieve) in general specificity, and (3) where they currently at in relation to the funds needed vs collected. Other sites that rely on volunteer funding (like BOINCstats) do the same. “Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. I personally don't think (or at least haven't read here) that they know the problem. This weekend, the forum and my contribution pages once again gave vague errors. Does that mean I read some message from Krembil here, detailing what went wrong and how they're going to prevent that from happening again? No, there's nothing. So there is no trust, either. |

I think they were just using humor to refer to us as "most valauable alpha testers". I thought it was a problem with the person doing the writing not being a native English Language speaker and them trying to say 'we have some very dedicated volunteers doing the testing', ie you and I |
