Well, the forum and web site (kind of) are back up after +36h of downtime, once again. Really need to find a bookie in Las Vegas who takes bets on how long its going to stay up this time.
----------------------------------------The Overview web page kind of comes back up without a System Error, but those nauseating progress bars all over the page just keep moving for minutes now.. And as usual, still crickets from Krembil. Truly relentless... Ralf |

Even the acknowledgement there was a problem was slow to appear on both Facebook and Twitter. Since I don't participate in either of those waste of time platforms, the information available there is sparse when I look there.

Well, the amount of info given there (at least on Facebook) is slightly more than what we get here in the forum (when it works)... Cheers Ralf |

Another wonderful effect is that when the forum is down, my contribution doesn't seem to be counted - at least, the Runtime and the squares in 'My Activity' seem to relate more to forum activity than to my activity. Because that would be stupid, but still understandable, it's worse: the graph does show activity (150 cpu-days per day). Strange, when 150 cpu-days in the graph don't count in the number of years.

I don't think that this directly related to the forum being down, but what ever infrastructure is going down prevents the internal stats runs (external still seems to be fine!) from running. The current stats, after the forum and web site are up again, nor now, are about 48h old at this point...Krembil, truly relentless... Ralf |

What does that have to do with the system going down all the time? That they are well beyond (half a year by now) their original time schedule is kind of yesterday's news...
----------------------------------------It all just aggravates the current situation... Ralf |

I would think they could just post a static screen when the entire site has an outage with a little message stating why the site is down/under construction/etc. Us non social media types would appreciate that. It would be better than what they are now doing.

BOINC forum is somewhere to post about outages, better than FB/twtr.

Cheers Hi Sgt.Joe, I sent your suggestion to the team and they are also interested in providing a more detailed error message than a simple "System Error". |
