does wcg on x86 mean - include amd dual core. i dont expect this to be a problem but i would like to know for sure b4 i buy a box that is 99% for wcg linux client..
i guess i am asking : has anyone out there got it up and runing on amd dual core and with wot distro? cheers i know fing has returnd results on linux so at least i know it works on something, thats a start, go the early adopters, i am a bit shy and cautious, i did put fedora on a disk as a test and did some FAD, hmm i have heard that FAD is "folding" pardon the pun on dec or is it nov16th.. hope they come over here and help.. i know i wont be paying for a 3rd dose of xp just for distrib puting projects,, am happy with the 2 kosher versions i have but any onther puter will have to be linux.. cheers, am pricing up setups now.. nearly good to go, please help |

I check our database and nobody has yet connected with a dual core so you will be breaking new ground, but from everything I have read there should be no problems. I am running an AMD A64 X2 duel core on Linux with WCG. Both cores are crunching.
No problem, works good. BTW I am running Linux SuSe 10.0 64 Bit OS |

When I made that post it had only been running about 3 hours. Still running with no issues so far.

Just started the grid on a Red Hat Linux with Dual Processors..... 600GB of HDD and 2GB of RAM ...... The funny part is that the program hasn't brought the CPU above 60% usage !!!

Check in the Ksysguard and make sure you have two instances of rosetta running..

I have BOINC running just fine on a quad Opteron 275 under a x86_64 kernel. Having trouble attaching to WCD but other projects run fine.
