Has anyone seen the above error message prior to boinc losing it's mind? all pages go blank, back ground tasks still running. I thought what the heck i'll try a quick reinstall and the same thing happened. also the normal http errors with back off for minutes turning into hours keep cropping up. What happened to the fix for the network issue?
----------------------------------------win 10 amd 64 core threadripper, 256 gig ram logs of course don't show anything of relevance. I have the debug turned on http items.  |

There was something about blank password disallowed in the previous to last version. Then in the latest version they made it allowed again. A new install may put a password in gui_rpc_auth.cfg. What's in there?

----------------------------------------Don't get me started on the http error stuff. it's been a nightmare. every task download tried for the last week end in retry mode and if i had let the rig run for a week they would have all been canceled since none were processing cause NOTHING was down loading. I don't all day to hit retry for hours to get one task running. simpler to abort and not waste the power. Thanks for you effort. Have a good weekend |

----------------------------------------I am on 7.16.11 after i gutted the regedit and other places where stuff is left lying around it semi started to work after third reinstall last weekend. Now where would I look for gui_rpc_auth.cfg? I don't go digging thru software paths as normal course of business. This is a plain download install and run. I did notice a thread about number of files to download per task. Wasn't sure what that about but with this rig i do have twin 10 gig ports in it so it can run fast if the sender ever wakes up and smells the coffee. Look forward to the password info.
