Re: 2022-08-05 Update (workunit shortage explanation)

Other projects with medical related work:
DENIS
Rosetta
SiDock

DENIS is good, Jesús is very responsive to issues and questions.

Rosetta should be noted is 99% VirtualBox. Occasionally there is some non-VB work but they seem to be primarily VB these days.

Re: 2022-08-05 Update (workunit shortage explanation)

For DENIS you need to set preferences to "Run test applications?" and "Beta of DENIS-myocyte:" to get the currently available testing units.

Edit: Just checked and all units now issued from current batch, Beta and New human ventricular cell model (I got some after none for ages).

Re: 2022-08-05 Update (workunit shortage explanation)

I signed up for Rosetta first when WCG closed end February but I have not been receiving regular work from them.

See my other post in regards to Rosetta.

I then signed up for DENIS last month but have yet to receive a single work-unit.

Check your DENIS@home work preferences. Sounds like you don't have everything selected. And select the checkbox for: If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?

to make sure if anything new pops up you get work.

Right now they are running a beta app, but it seems to be stable. They are testing new/revised algorithms. There are 2 other regular apps, one is the original algorithm, one is a new one with the relaunch. We burned through all the new work so fast that they went and released a beta app for us to run too. ;)

Paul.
SiDock has an SI TLD (Slovenia) but is really in Moscow @ the Karelian Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Why would anyone want to support Russia, or anything connected with Russia, after what they are doing in Ukraine?

@Cyclops:

How's it going with the network engineers in the data center? Have they started dealing with the issues you referred to in your update in this thread?
I'm waiting patiently for the release of OPNG tasks, and have stopped asking for CPU tasks on those of my computers that are capable of crunching on the GPU.

I'm actually awaiting approval to post today's update right now, which should answer your questions.

Thank you Cyclops.Information posted often, is the key to keeping the volunteers on the project. Even if there isn't much information to give, a simple "hello" from the project team, is often enough, and much appreciated by everyone.

Thank you Cyclops. I too changed my profile to get my preferred project tasks in hopes that WCG can send more WUs soon.
