I'm getting the same error as some others. "This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://master.worldcommunitygrid.org/"
When I remove the project, then add it after changing the url, it still uses the old url, and after a couple of deferrals, it stops even trying to connect. I downloaded the latest boinc yesterday, so my software should be up to date. |

I go to the community and then global and find that it has not been updated since 28 February. I have had no results since 19 February. I was getting over a hundred results a day and had more than a couple of years without missing a day. I was looking forward to getting 500 million points. But now I believe that IBM gave WCG away to anyone who would take it. I go way back to when IBM was using UD(United Deices) software to get started and gradually moved to BOINC.

Update on my post below. All my tasks have now uploaded and validated.

This is not a full restart, more like an extensive testing phase. A limited amount of workunits were sent out so some volunteers will not receive them. We will have more news to share regarding the full restart soon. Sorry for the confusion. Cyclops, Thank you, this is the type of information I came here to find. It's a shame that I had to search so hard to find it! I understand the reasoning behind a slow rollout, but WCG & Krembil could have been more open/clear concerning the process. After all, not everyone who volunteers is on the same level technically. I also understand that as a minor contributor, I will be activated nearer the end of the rollout. But again, I would have appreciated a heads up from WCG & Krembil. As to the "confusion," I had no clue that the project URL had changed. I received no emails telling me a notice had been posted. There was no change in the system tray Icon to alert me. As I recall, in the past, WCG used the Icon to indicate when a Notice or Update was available. I would never have known if I hadn't frequently checked the site. Then there was a hiccup in the process of updating the URL. I copied the new URL to the clipboard, removed the old project, clicked Add Project, and was greeted with a Sign-In page. So far, so good. I enter my User Name & Password and am notified that they are INVALID!? It wasn't until the next day that I was able to sign in and add the new project URL. On their own, these are minor inconveniences, but add them up? I can easily see volunteers leaving the WCG in frustration. I know I almost quit. But I am still here, eagerly awaiting work units, cautiously optimistic that the WCG & Krembil team will eventually have the WCG back up and running better than ever.
