----------------------------------------"I would like to point out that the entire transition team on Krembil side is made of scientists, each with different expertise. We will try our best to answer all your questions, while making sure the transition is as seamless as possible." It has become obvious to every user/cruncher here that this team of scientist is not capable by far to solve all the IT problems with the WCG. Chiara and all the other enthusiasts: Pls do yourself a favor, stop tweaking and messing around with the hard- and software and get some professional IT specialists to help you. I suggest that you start a public funding campaign to raise money to pay those specialists! If not, it might take until Christmas or longer! Thanks! this migration sounds to me like they changed from Linux server to Microsoft servers.
delays is what you get for switching to MS. I hope my sarcasms is not real though because if you did migrate to MS. Wait 'till later. the headaches and stress. :( they down time. OMG. stick with Linux please. |

To me as the front end cruncher, it makes no difference if the server environment is running Linux or MS. It will have an impact on the admin side.
I'm somewhat embarrassed about the poor communication skills of the team running WCG. And I think that - once the migration has been fully completed - they will have pis*** off many cruncers in the meantime. They were focussing on "social media" and the website - but they don't even make use of that. Very disappointing indeed. |
