Finished? Nothing happening yet.

Hard to see that as a smooth transition. Hmm... How is that getting the past tense meaning? Apparently implicit in the use of "that" in the context. So the present tense form is "Hard to see this as a smooth transition." Which is valid since the migration is apparently still going on.

Good thing I mostly stopped caring a long time ago...

Re: Finished? Nothing happening yet.

I'm glad they are making the effort to keep the WCG going. It has obviously not been the smooth transition they hoped for, but I'm happy they are moving forward, making progress, and doing the best they can. I'm glad to see so many positive supportive posts clamoring for Work Units on the forums. It gives me hope that this will be a thriving community of people helping the researchers with our computers, and playing a part in new discoveries.

I don't think your post really adds anything to the discussion or is constructive in any way, I hope you find a project that you can care about.

At last, thank you.

Re: Finished? Nothing happening yet.

I too am clamoring for work on my 4 desktops and i can fully appreciate the effort that the small team has gone through to get this far with such a massive undertaking. i worked on a project to move an online system from UK to US and it took 6 months with a staff of over 200. I applaud the effort to get the system back in fully swing.

I'm in no hurry, now that we at least have the website and forum online. If we have waited for 4 months, we can wait a bit longer for the BOINC part of WCG to restart.

Edit, added: Notices from the project through BOINC manager is working as it should though.

Re: Finished? Nothing happening yet.

My machines kept busy with TnGrid and Milkyway with a pinch of Rosetta. WCG just keeps pinging the site for work so it will kick in as soon as stuff is available.
