Re: WCG-Two Months Maintenance Starting on Feb 28th

Never forget that the donations are made by the volunteers. If we don't feel welcome here, we're not obligated to be here. I would appreciate if we reconsider the hostile tone towards the members asking valid questions. I am beginning to feel that your gatekeeping is getting excessive.

Re: WCG-Two Months Maintenance Starting on Feb 28th

They are trying to get the system back up and running. They would love nothing more than to have it up and running. We can ask the "when" question over and over, but it won't change anything. It will be up when they figure out all the issues and get it back up.

I have no inside knowledge, but I really don't think there is any nefarious plot to keep it down any longer than it needs to be. They have there own project in mix and have a vested interest as well as time and money invested to get this working again.

It isn't gatekeeping. it isn't mean. They are just focused on doing the important bit of working on the system. They haven't been the best at guessing when they would be back, and picking a date and missing it might also do more harm to the community than not giving a date at all.

All there is to do now is wait, and that is hard when we the crunchers have a vested interest as well. Some volunteers will leave, some will stay, new ones will come along. I'm sure every volunteer CPU and GPU is appreciated
