Re: WCG-Two Months Maintenance Starting on Feb 28th

All I want is enough work to feel useful.

Folding at home is a good project if you have a decent(ish) modern gpu. CPUs are not as useful unless you have dozens of cores, but will keep your system busy until wcg is back up.

Oh my...

I joined the Project a few years ago. Starting computing on the crappy, weak machines as only these I was able to afford by then.

Now, since my PC is fairly ok, I wish just to let it change into the house heater... Please send some work units please! :)

Just checking in, has anyone else received any work units? Still waiting and it's July 1st... Got some hungry servers and gaming computers doing a whole lot of nothing otherwise lol.

Yeah, but you can only express a PREFERENCE for work. So if you for instance to pick Cancer, you may get Cancer but there's a good chance you'll get work for other studies if they have a higher priority for whatever reason (nature of study, need more computing power, etc.)

I'm miffed Nercortix helped create create an Android client for Folding@home and then the powers to be abandoned it. They claimed they didn't have the manpower to develop an updated Android client, a company developed it on their own tab, then F@H never bothered releasing the client. Really, what they just want is GPUs...

Re: WCG-Two Months Maintenance Starting on Feb 28th

Do you think it's possible that question has been asked sometime in the couple weeks since the website and forum came up?

(Sorry if I sound a little snarky...but you can probably guess why from the question.)

i believe the need for an answer has been made clear, and it's a fairly basic and specific question. I don't think we can blame people for asking it. It's the stuff you'd normally have answered in a popup big and bold on the website's cover page when you first visit the site.

The very fact you're here on the forum implies you should know the answer anyway.

Now you made me waste my time replying to this thread with "the very fact you're here on the forum implies you should know the answer anyway".

Head to TnGrid
https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/
Check title Join TN-Grid on the left and follow that first. Then you can select TnGrid from the Boinc client project list
Look at my stats. Everything under WCG is WUs since Feb.
Milkyway is not Health Science and a bit funny in computing. Rosetta has not much unless you have Virtual Box installed. SiDock is from Moscow (which I cancelled for some reason that I don't remember).

Are you really telling us that you already forgot that Russia invaded the Sovereign Nation of Ukraine, and that was the likely reason why you cancelled SiDock? Russia is still waging a full scale war against Ukraine.
