Re: heaps of errors all of a sudden

within the past 6 hours or so, many tasks show "error" in the final result, regardless on which of my several PCs they have been processed.
What's the problem?

I have had this error on different machines.

This also seemed a bit unusual for the same WU....

Re: heaps of errors all of a sudden

Also got an error on six tasks like OPNG_0086584_00022

The error message (when I drilled down to std_err.txt) was

autogrid4: ERROR: The number of atom types found in the receptor PDBQT (8) does not match the number specified by the "receptor_types" command (7) in the GPF!

This indicates a badly-formed batch of tasks - an error at the project end, and nothing to do with anybody's personal machine. Just let them run as normal, and let them work their way out of the system - no need to make any changes to your settings.

Re: heaps of errors all of a sudden

Thanks, Richard, for the hint.

A check on my failed tasks basically shows the same in stderr:

autogrid4: ERROR: The number of atom types found in the receptor PDBQT (8) does not match the number specified by the "receptor_types" command (7) in the GPF!
autogrid4: ERROR: Sorry, AutoGrid cannot continue

Re: heaps of errors all of a sudden

OPNG_0086592_00053 and OPNG_0086589_00085 errored out for every person they were sent to with the same error you guys got (ruining my reliable status and forcing re-validation of the system). It looks like they are including more jobs in each work unit in just the past day and the new units take longer but give more credits (0.05 hours/500-600 credits before and 0.10-0.17 hours/1100-1500 credits after). (Multiply the BOINC credits by 7 to get the WCG points.)

Re: heaps of errors all of a sudden

I have now seen these types of errors as well for the last few hours. It does seem to me as if these have just misspecified input files that causes the algorithm to abort the task early/nearly instantly. It also appears as if the latest series of tasks are docking more elaborate molecules as runtimes increased a lot over the past day as did awarded credits; or simply package more tasks into the WU as suggested in the above post by Acibant
