Hi all,
I'm receiving AMD GPU tasks but, when they're running, looking at the Windows Task Manager there is no activity on the GPU (an AMD Radeon R7 M265, on the event log it shows that it supports OpenCL 1.2 ). Also, the initial estimate is that the task would complete in approx 33 min, and at the beginning it goes fast, but when it reaches 99%, the task would finish after more than 10 hours later. Tasks using Intel GPU work fine. Please advise if this is the expected behavior for AMD GPU tasks. |

I do not have that issue with 5 AMD cards so I'm gonna say no, that is not expected behavior.

Windows Task Manager often doesn't show computing tasks as activity. Use some monitoring software instead. For example, HWiNFO64, if you see the GPU pulling more power than idle, it's working.

The Windows Task Manager shows four mini-charts of GPU information, but has many more than four sensors available for display. Explore the other options from the drop-down list at the top left corner of any of the charts.

Hi Jake, thanks for your comments!!
I used to run other tasks on BOINC that also explored the AMD GPU and they ran on the GPU w/o problems. As a correction, last night there was one of those job running and it timed-out after 12 hours, at 100.000% completion, 0.000 seconds left of processing, and was saying it was still Running... |

Hi Richard,
I couldn't find the charts and drop down list you mentioned on the Task Manager, maybe because I'm using Windows 10 Home?? Thanks for the comments!! |

I found this information on HowToGeek:
That’s why only systems with WDDM 2.0-compatible GPUs show this information in the Task Manager. If you don’t see it, your system’s GPU probably uses an older type of driver. |

Hi Richard,
I see the same here, difference is that I also have a GPU 1 related to the AMD board - during the GPU task processing, all windows remain at 0%. Best regards!! |
