Just recently switched to a new Mac mini with the M1 chip. Most, but not all, (90 out of 99) WU's are failing with errors. The error is 'process got signal 4' message. This is running the OpenPandemics project, although I have also had a WU fail on the Microbiome Immunity Project.
Are there settings in the client I should change to allow the WU's to run correctly, or do I need to wait until an ARM version of the code? |

I think your new M1 Apple is emulating an Intel chip to handle these WU's. Perhaps the emulation is good enough for 'normal' programs, but not for very cpu-intensive programs like BOINC. Googling for 'apple M1 process "signal 4" ' gives some hints that this may be the case.

See here . The problem apparently has to do with the sleep mode. It seems if you disable the sleep mode, the problem will go away.
