I wanted to add another vote to those who want the BOINC team stats exported via XML. BOINC users expect this behavior. All the other projects provide this and it screws up the signatures/graphics that people like to make. See this discussion at one of the graphic-producer sites: http://www.mundayweb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=561#561
I don't know anything about the technical details, but aren't the team stats via xml provided by the BOINC platform, so that the implementation by WCG should be somewhat trivial, given that they already have BOINC working in every other respect? What is the technical challenge that prevents this? |

Hi boaltdotorg,
We saved time by not implementing the full Statistics section, since it was possible to start running BOINC without it. We will continue to implement the rest of the BOINC system. But slowly, since part of our programming effort has been diverted from system programming and boarding applications to work that is more fun. AutoDock 4.0 is the first big new release since version 3.0 came out in 1999 and it is a major change, with 'flexible sidechains'. New! Improved! Whiter than White! What 'flexible sidechains' means is that the program is looking at each atom in the molecule, within constraints. So it is much more computationally intensive than version 3.0. The project scientists have naturally been worrying more about the science and the algorithms in getting the program out of the door, so there may be an opportunity to optimize the program a bit, allowing us to check more compounds within the same time frame. We are looking into this possibility right at the start, so some other programming efforts underway might lag a bit. In research, you are supposed to follow priorities closely, but change your priorities quickly in response to what you discover. We are basing our priorities on what we discovered while boarding FightAIDS@Home for our UD Windows client. Please be patient. mycrofth |

ALRIGHT! FLEXIBLE SIDECHAINS!
I was wondering when they'd finally get around to adding that! ![]() |

Hello olYmPus,
User statistics are run 4 times a day at 0, 6, 12 and 18 hours UTC (or GMT, if you prefer that). The team statistics are only done once a day at midnight, which is why that run takes longer. mycrofth |

Hello olYmPus, User statistics are run 4 times a day at 0, 6, 12 and 18 hours UTC (or GMT, if you prefer that). ok, thx for this fast answer ![]() I have joined WCG today but atm I can't download any work from WCG. is this because I'm not counted atm in the user.gz or is there no work? |
