BladeD, you are correct, I forgot I would post when I was complete. Things should be flowing normally. I'll double check it midway through the day to confirm this.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

We are doing one final check on the filesystem which is happening now. I imagine it'll be done in the next few hours, but everything should be operational while this is happening. Once that check is complete, then we can mark these server updates and changes fully complete.
Thank you again for volunteering with us. -Uplinger |

Well Uplinger, after having been part of SETI@home for many many years, where server hiccups and outages was something we saw very often (they were on a shoestring budget all the time), WCG's few hiccups and outages is nothing, almost impossible to notice
---------------------------------------- . The outages on SETI@home could sometimes last for days.... SETI@home is now, since 31st of March in hibernation, and quite a few of us from there is now crunching here on WCG instead. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Oct 29, 2020 6:41:03 PM] |

Grumpy Swede,
We are glad to have you here. We strive to have zero hiccups and outages, but sometimes stuff happens. As for the changes, they are 100% complete from our end. Thank you again for your patience. -Uplinger |

My uploads have been stuck for the last 15 minutes on all my projects. I trust it is a minor hiccup.

Good afternoon,
We have been dealing with a failure on the backend of one of our drives. We restriped the data which caused the hiccup earlier as it gets to a point near the end of phase 1. I'm not sure why it took extra long for this hiccup, but it did. As for the bad drive, it has been removed from the file system. To replace it I will need to perform another maintenance window similar to what we did during the week. This drive failure is one of our older drives that has been in the system for a few years. We are scheduling the drive replacement to happen on Monday morning. Since this drive is extra redundant, we have full replication across the entire system and does not require immediate action. Thanks, -Uplinger |
