That's looking better Keith - just down loaded one successfully onto my Win 7 machine and kicked it off. So far, so good...

boinc-client-7.16.6-3.fc31.x86_64 with BETA_SCC1 app versions 7.17 and 7.18 on one device - both the app versions started without a problem, 11 of them running so far.

We are starting a beta test with 100k work units. This will have all versions of the science application running on version 7.17. Please let us know if you encounter any issues.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Any chance for a Linux Arm version of SCC in these tests?

All 8 of my beta24s have downloaded successfully on 7.14.3 with a 4 day deadline. 5 are running so far.

Re: Smash Childhood Cancer Beta Test - Sept 8 2020 [ Issues Thread ]

I just completed a workunit and both replications have returned, but are pending validation. Is there something wrong or do I just have to wait?

Beta validators are hardly ever on when a new beta starts. They do a controlled run when lots have returned and a validation rerun if the initial validator proofs wonky.

Re: Smash Childhood Cancer Beta Test - Sept 8 2020 [ Issues Thread ]

I have almost 160 WUs pending or currently in progress. No errors so far. All seem well-behaved on my systems. The only note I have is that Linux seems more efficient than Windows units. I have two systems that I use to compare Windows vs. Linux efficiency, both running a Ryzen 3600 stock. The Windows versions seem to run 1.5 - 2 hours each; the Linux versions are between 0.6 and 1 hours each. I don't know if the work units are similarly sized in terms of the amount of computation done, but if they are similar, Linux seems to be the most efficient way to run these particular units.

Not saying that's a good thing, or a bad thing, or a bug. It is interesting though!

Got a few, but this one completed with the message "too late"

BETA_SCC1_0003925_CREB-A_73906

This was an Android unit and it's been sent out several times and they've all failed apart from mine.

DrMason,

Yes, Autodock Vina runs much faster with Linux than with Windows.
