Re: OpenPandemics - Monthly Calls with Researchers

The update at the Forlilab website. Pretty interesting (at least for me).

Re: OpenPandemics - Monthly Calls with Researchers

Thanks for the update. Anything to report on GPU's?

I strongly support that not only Open Pandemics but all WCG Projects should use
GPU and CPU at the same time.

I whish, there was some kind of handbook that will make porting a project to GPU easier
in the future.

It should be a normal process in which also less talented programmers can take part.
Must admit that pesonally, I cannot code, sad about this......

Look here
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,42557

Maybe w should wait for a reaction of WCG, which would be apreciated

Mabe a technician could give a qualified comment and support
Thanks for your post anyway

Re: OpenPandemics - Monthly Calls with Researchers

Greetings, Mosqueteiro
You are right as far as the current situation is concerned.
But if there was a good and long handbook on how to use GPU and CPU at the same time, it would be realistic that more reseachers and programmers conceive their WCG research programms from the beginning in a way that those programms can use CPU and GPU at the same time.

Wouldn't this be a desirable goal to achive?

All the best
Martin

It's tragic the hostility being shown to philanthropists by IBM.

Re: OpenPandemics - Monthly Calls with Researchers

The August update has been posted to our website. You can get a link to the article and ask questions about the update in the thread here in the News forum.

Since each monthly project update will now have its own forum thread, we are locking the old monthly update threads.
