Re: OPN Computation Error on old PC

Now it is running MIP, I have to figure out if the temperatures remain within an acceptable range before deciding to dedicate it to OPN1.

My i5-3210m and FX8320 both show about 10-15 C less temperature running MIP than when running OPN. Just be aware of that. That's under linux, it seems MIP WUs are a much lighter workload than OPN WUs.

Re: OPN Computation Error on old PC

I tried to change the two fields using Pe.Tools from 6 to 5, but then WCG refused to send me tasks because the "signature check of the executable failed". I also tried to use an app_info.xml but "anonymous platform is not supported on this project". What have you done to get OPN1 running on Windows XP?

Did you altered the right file? It's:
wcgrid_opn1_autodock_7.17_windows_intelx86

in the directory: C: or D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org\

I just changed the 2 fields from 6 to 5 and saved it. Restarted WCG and it run w/o problem any more. You didn't happen to change anything else, did you? wink

I got it to work by not using the Save option. Change the values from $0006 to $0005 and hit enter, then click on Close. After changing both values to $0005, I then clicked on the red X in upper right corner of screen to close PEInfo. When using the Save option, I received the same signature check error as you.

Re: OPN Computation Error on old PC

Thank you, I will try after this MIP's wu finishes. Unfortunately after just a couple of "computation error" my host is blacklisted from OPN1 and receives only MIP tasks :( hope tonight or tomorrow I will able to try again

You should be able to receive 1 after midnight UTC, at least think the quota control goes by the statistics cycle and not the wallclock.
