Wanted to make a "fun" section that we could use to manually track the progress of the project as a community. The first #s after OPN1_, indicate the batch that WU is from.
----------------------------------------Ex: WU OPN1_ 0000275_ 07104_ 0 The xxxx275 refers to the batch, while the following number (07104) refers to the generation of that iteration. The batch # tracks the progress of the overall project, the generation only indicates the progress on that particular batch. It's not perfect, but is a fun little way to track the progress of the project ourselves. The highest batch I have as of early Thursday May 21st 2020, is 336. What's your highest batch #? Share and discuss below! ![]() [Edit 3 times, last edit by yoerik at May 21, 2020 10:55:23 PM] |

Think uplinger posted somewhere the number of jobs per batch (10,000?) and the number of batches (50,000?), so you can expand your fun with 'Percent of Known Work Distributed', batches not really sequentially sent out. Return Results or Validated Results from the Stats pages might be a measure, albeit, what's the percent that's sent out in quorum 2 for to add to that 'iffy' factor.
Batches by the task name format suggest there's room to grow to 9,999,999 so you'll have to have a bit of endurance for the next couple of years. |

Each target could have about 50k batches. There will be multiple targets used. Each batch has 10k ligands that get split and combined into work units. We are hoping to see how fast we can run through the first target to determine overall scale source ![]() |

From this article shared by Aurum420 over at TN-Grid:
----------------------------------------"In February, the research group synthesized genes from the coronavirus and injected them into cells. They uncovered over 400 human proteins that the virus seems to rely on." Dr. Forli said on the opening post: "We're running molecular docking simulations to evaluate chemical compounds as potential candidates for the development of drugs for the treatment of COVID-19. For that we will perform also the first large virtual screening for irreversible binders (i.e. suicide inhibitors) using a new protocol we developed, called Reactive Docking. This will allow us to target not only the whole viral proteome (i.e. every protein made by the virus) but also their interactions with the host proteins in a novel way that has the potential to deepen our understanding of the still largely unknown biology behind the COVID-19 disease." Acc. to this, a SARS-CoV-2 virion has 29 viral proteins, so that's 29 targets right there, I suppose. So, how many targets do we have, I wonder? WCG says the project is huge... I think he said that it was 10k ligands per batch, but didn't say the average number of ligands per WU. So 500 million ligands per target, but no word on the number of WUs per target or the total number of targets. EDIT: Looks like others beat me to it--this is what you get for starting a message and then walking away from the computer for a bit. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by supdood at May 20, 2020 2:15:06 PM] |

it's the thought that counts, lol. I'm sure we'll get more details in the coming weeks and months.
