Pause in Work for Smash Childhood Cancer

Hello everyone,
We wanted to let you know that there will be a pause in work for Smash Childhood Cancer. We estimate that the current batches in our queue will be completed early next week.

The research team is doing preliminary work to start looking at another possible protein target for treatments, so we expect that we will have additional work. We don't yet have an ETA for this additional work, but will let everyone know once we do.

We had originally estimated that the latest set of work units would last until the second half of May. One of the probable reasons that the work was completed more quickly is that we've had an influx of new volunteers in the past few weeks, and Smash Childhood Cancer is one of the most popular projects with many volunteers.

Thanks for your support,

caitilarkin

Re: Pause in Work for Smash Childhood Cancer

Good to hear that we have many people joining WCG.
On the other hand I am worried that we run out of work for Android systems. Without SCC there is only MCM left for Android.

The OpenPandemics COVID-19 project will also have Android work. It's in BETA testing.

Re: Pause in Work for Smash Childhood Cancer

thnaks for the update. I guess that the quick speed in this case was due the possibility to run SCC in ARM/Android devices which multiple by millions devices capable to work for.... but it is my guess !
