I set it at 31%, but the computer still insists on crunching on all 36 cpu's. I appreciate your answer, maybe you have another idea to try? I hope so. If the change was made in the BOINC client "Computing preferences" it should apply immediately. If the change was made in the website Device Manager > Device Profile, it requires at least 1 communication with the client. BUT, if you made local preference changes in the past, website side changes will be ignored. If you like to use website profile settings again, you need to hit "Use Web Prefs" button in the client's Computing preferences, right hand top.
