Couldn't create host record in database
Good afternoon.

Please help with the problem - the client does not download tasks for processing.

Somehow the client has not succeeded to fully register.

Don't know if host names(network names) have a requirement in terms of characters you cant you or length. My guess is, if it's accepted by Windows 7, it's okay for the internet. Maybe your firewall or AV software prevents setting cookies or whatever causing the handshake to fail. Certainly I'd detach the client from WCG and add WCG again and see if the issue repeats itself. At any case the log says

Scheduler request failed: Couldn't resolve host name

then goes to verify if the Internet is up and confirms it's OK.

This error is most likely because there is an issue with your device's host name:

Host names are expected to follow the internet standard. https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc952 This includes A-Z, a-z, 0-9, dash ( - ) and period ( . ). Please follow the instructions here to change your host name: https://superuser.com/questions/334854/change-hostname-in-windows-7

Isn't that a DNS failure? Trying to resolve scheduler.worldcommunitygrid.org. It finally resolved it later down in the log so probably not related to the host database record issue.

Can you do the following please:
  • Detach from World Community Grid on that client
  • Attach back to World Community Grid on that client

If you still see this message in the log file after detaching and re-attaching:

then can you send the following file to support@worldcommunitygrid.org?
C:\ProgramData\BOINC\sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
