Re: How did WCG miss this golden opportunity for free publicity?!?

NO, it was agreed with knreed that the 'new credit' rule only affected WCG by about 20%, no doubling, so WCG reverted to keeping the factor 7 multiplicator.
How do I calculate my FLOPS (Floating Point Operations Per Second) based off my World Community Grid points?
BOINC provides a reference about credit and its relation to FLOPS here. However, you should know that seven (7) World Community Grid points are equal to one (1) BOINC credit.

Therefore, your total World Community Grid points divided by 700 gives you the number of GigaFLOPs and your World Community Grid points divided by 700,000 gives you the number of TeraFLOPs.

This was cited over at Rosetta:
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_threa...33&postid=92033#92033

It doesn't really discuss any WCG plans, but indicates possible directions.

Please note that the paper mentioned in the BOINC forum was not written or produced by World Community Grid. It was written by scientists who used World Community Grid power for a different project. It does not indicate possible or actual directions.

Link to the Review: https://osf.io/hczra/
Nonetheless, an interesting read with an open acknowledgement and thanks to the World Community Grid and all its volunteers for the computing power provided to the OpenZika, It also says that future docking efforts need to run more specific molecule libraries as well as targets since the data from OpenZika will take years to analyse.

Also referenced on that Review, is the NS3 target paper that the OpenZika team wrote and published and was mentioned in the December 2019 OpenZika update as having being submitted and accepted. This one should absolutely be posted in the News Section of the World Community Grid - https://europepmc.org/article/med/31776405
They report on a compound that reduces Zika viral replication by 86%!

Also found this FightAIDS@Home paper from March 2019 which I don't think was published here at WCG. https://europepmc.org/article/MED/30862755

Don't want to go off-topic, but please post project updates and papers resulting from our work here more often.
