Re: Mapping Cancer Markers - Project Update, January 2020

Having contributed to BOINC and other research projects since 2010, I must now, sadly, cease processing research tasks. Despite adding Win 10 pro to my AMD 8350, I cannot persuade this old PC to run for extended periods.
Happy crunching everyone!

John

Hello everyone,

Here's an update from the MCM research team. While the update talks mainly about the analysis of the lung cancer data, we're also getting sarcoma work units ready for release and running a beta test on Android work units for this project. As the researchers mention in the update, MCM will keep everyone busy for a long time to come.

Thanks to everyone who is supporting this project!
ErikaT

John, like Jim1348 said, thank you for all your crunching. You have been a positive person around the various Boinc fora, plus a dedicated cruncher. All the best, and hopefully someday you can contribute again!

John, sad to see you leave. BTW, have you tried running Linux on your AMD 8350 computer? It may run WCG and BOINC with less problems. You can boot it from a separate drive without altering any Win10 settings. On my old i5 Thinkpad T430, its actually quite a bit quicker.

Re: Mapping Cancer Markers - Project Update, January 2020

Sorry to see you go John, sounds like you have a technical problem? Maybe open a thread at the Hardware chat so we can discuss it and see if we can solve it?
