No Longer Receiving Work Units To Process For The Project?

Hi,
I am no longer receiving work units to process for the Mapping Cancer Markers Project.
Is there something wrong with the results that were returned?

My Laptop is available a minimum of ten hours a day, usually more. I allow the WCG to use 100% processor utilization when my system is idle.

The only work units I receive are from the Microbiome Immunity Project.

My system more than adequately meets the specifications I have found.

From your logs you are still reporting existing work from WCG. However, according to your logs you are also only requesting work from WCg for your GPU. Currently there is no work on WCG for GPU's. There is only work for CPU's. You have work for your CPU and reporting it. Did you change any settings lately ?

Hi,
Thanks for responding. I didn't know about not being able to use GPUs. That explains why when I check GPU activity it is always minimal. The settings on the client were updated to increase some thresholds regarding how much of the available resources to use. I did update the website.

Why I am I not receiving any work from Mapping Cancer Markers?

Going by this snip, you enabled GPU work requesting / disabled CPU work requesting in the 'Custom' part of your device profile.

Goto Device Manager or Device Profiles and select the one associated to your device. Click Custom Profile if not already selected and scroll down to the Processor Usage section. There is "Allow research to run on my CPU?". It should be Yes to get CPU based work. If not, change that and save the profile. Then on the client (BOINC Manager) hit update in the project tab, where first you select the WCG line. Work sjhould start flowing again in a few minutes. If not,, come back and show use the new entries in the event log.

Did this get resolved?

Since you mention adjusting thresholds, I'd probably check work unit cache settings and project limits (but more the cache settings since it isn't requesting tasks for CPU at all). If you adjusted your cache down, the behavior you're experiencing would be expected until the cache reached the new limit.

He is much more knowledgeable than I am and probably knows my schedule better than I do.
As far as "detached" goes, I can tell you that I have experienced this status when I have had a computer shut down unexpectedly due to a power outage and needed to reinstall the OS because the installation had become corrupted. All of the work unit then went into oblivion, never to be seen again from my system. They were then reissued to someone else, but because my system ceased to exist for the server, it had, in essence, detached itself (permanently in this case) from BOINC Central at WCG.
