This happens occasionally. If you check the progress of the units you may notice they went out to another person who received them correctly. If you see the unit failed about 5 times with the same type of error, that would be a malformed unit and the techs would pull it and either they or the scientists would fix it and re-submit it. Unless this happens consistently on your system(s) i would not worry about it.

Just had that happen to a new Ryzen system I recently built (x3900, Win 10)
Several hundred valid WUs in the last day (mix ARP, FAH, HST, MIP) and one ERR: <core_client_version>7.14.2</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> WU download error: couldn't get input files: <file_xfer_error> <file_name>e382c70e55faa06ad1d4c920ec656549.dms</file_name> <error_code>-119 (md5 checksum failed for file)</error_code> <error_message>MD5 check failed</error_message> </file_xfer_error> It looks like that one error put this machine on a quota - the event log now shows "This computer has finished a daily quota of 5 tasks". That's going to cause a 24 thread machine to run dry quickly! |

That's going to cause a 24 thread machine to run dry quickly! Think the quota applies to the specific science. It can go down to 1 if enough errors are returned. But, a download/MD5 verification error should not impact quota IMHO, to include frequently seen code -186 for a straight download fail. Every subsequent successful return doubles the quota again till infinity, so stop sweating. |
