Thanks for that Lavaflow. I notice that it's a little different (and from 2007).

Hi all.
----------------------------------------On my side, i had try to set of the LAIM options, the work unit still terminate with errors. If i right clic on the boinc manager tray, choose "exit" and set the option "Stop running task when exiting the World Community Grid", it's seems there's no errors after the restart. Closing the client entirely and allow a bit of time before booting/powerdown helps in cases, but is not a solution to all. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=619279 |

Slow the shutdown procedure with the "WaitToKillAppTimeout" set to 60 seconds instead of 20 seconds and the "HungAppTimeout" set to 20 seconds instead 5 seconds didn't do anything on my computer.
There a way to make a bat file wich close the client and shutdown the computer after a moment but it's not a solution too. It's weird that only this project had this issue. The others doesn't do this. |

Not from the usually ghastly help by MS
----------------------------------------https://www.howtogeek.com/282062/control-how-...killing-apps-at-shutdown/ Note the small detail... there's a killtime separately for services from the apps you amended! Edit: Set my WaitToKillServiceTimeout to 20000 milliseconds (20 seconds). Will learn on next boot, when it's monthly update day again. Not sure if related or not, but due to a power cut whilst I was out my machines keeled over and then restarted. The Windoze 7 box picked up the MIP units it had and continued on without missing a beat, but the Linux box restarted and appeared to be processing the MIP units fine. But it wasn't. Both units got stuck and though time incremented no further work was being completed. After over 100 hrs each of runtime I aborted both when I noticed the problem.

Today I needed to boot (the monthly Windows update horror) and forgot 1 step... to take LAIM off before shutdown. Sure enough, 2 MIP went the Unrecoverable error path. All other sciences were fine.

BOINC/WCG 7.2.47 came out in 2014. Wondering if you'll still get the same error messages on 7.14.2 (2018). I finally upgraded to 7.14.2 and still the same Access Violation error. I left 5 running while I rebooted and all had a computation error. Cheers |
