Hi everyone,
I saw on my result page that the amount of credit claimed and granted differs hugely between different WU's, while CPU time is about the same (on the same machine of course). Any of you seeing the same behaviour? Result Name Device Name Status Sent Time Return Time CPU Time/ Elapsed Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit |

I've noticed that too, but it's evening out after another half a dozen work units for that device to have more self-esteem.
---------------------------------------- It may take another week or two to get a better average to claim more points.

Agreed - I'm still seeing a wide variation of credits from results completed on the same machine. Claimed are similar while granted are all over the map.

I noticed a relationship that if wingman's claimed credit is less., the awarded takes a big hit.

That makes sense, but I've noticed that many have more credits granted than claimed. I guess they're feeling generous ;)

I've noticed that many have more credits granted than claimed. I guess they're feeling generous ;) If you click on the WU name you see a dialog with details of your wingman's claim. In general (that is, barring attempts to detect possible fraud) the granted points will simply be the arithmetic mean of the two claims. |

Well if you are really interested in points, you may be encouraged a bit by looking at the last 4 days. The overall average BOINC points per work unit is about 812. The last 4 days have all exceeded this number.
----------------------------------------Nov. 18: 824.4 Nov. 19: 817.5 Nov. 20: 825.3 Nov. 21: 850.5 The 812 number is a bit skewed because the first 7 days of the project all had lower averages than 812 BOINC points per work unit. Cheers

Not that interested in the points - a few thousand points and a Metrocard will get me on the subway ;)
Just curious. Thanks, |

Ok, I was looking into this. What is happening is that members are getting caught claiming higher than normal. This is setting their claim to be based off the fpops estimate. However, the problem is, this was not getting updated from the initial value that was set during the first week. The automated script had a minimum threshold to update that value. I am deploying a fix for that at the moment. However, members will still see a shift for lower claims when someone claims way to high...This should be better in credit going forward.
Thanks, -Uplinger |
